I've been cleaning my room lately and purging the crap, while going through my old notebooks I stumbled across this random little story I submitted for college (maybe high school?) credit apparently:
Back in the time of Saturday morning cartoons and Sunday morning and afternoon and evening cartoons and also Monday through Friday afternoon cartoons I used to believe that cartoons were real. They had to be! They were so fun and lifelike, the adventures that they would go one... I would immerse myself into them. I was part of their adventures. I was battling the evils and trying to take over the city, I was right there with Launchpad and Gizmo and Scrooge McDuck saving his huge money vault from the three crooks and their mo., who always escaped from jail. I was right there telling Pinky not to do that or giving Brain ti[s on how to take over the world. HOW COULD THESE ADVENTURES NOT BE REAL?! They all took place on a planet so much like earth...well most of the time.
Another thing...if one when to Disney world you could go and give Mickey Mouse a great big hug and Goofy a high five and take your picture with them too. PROOF that they were real right in your own photo album at home. Me 'n Mickey or when they would travel to Egypt and run away from mummys. [not sure how that line fits in right there]
Cartoons were so fun and lifelike. Lofts of things are fun and lifelike I guess, well not reall, I was talking about cartoons a minute ago, what else is fun and lifelike? Stuffed animals. I guess. You can hold them so it is fun with them. I had a stuffed tiger that I used to sleep with his name was Tony because mine was too and also so was the cereal tiger's name. I had another Tiger I called Tony jr. he was so little and cute. I would take Tony and Tony jr. everywhere I went. I took them to my friend Tom's house a few time and her liked them. I would take the Tony on car trips. He mad a great pillow with his feet and his snout. He even sat at my head with in 4th grade when I had surgery on my foot. Tony was always there for me. We played games together, watched TV together, He had whiskers for a little while but I pulled them out. I cried because I thought that I had wrecked him, They were so itchy though and starting to bend and break, So it was for the betterment of my stuffed tiger.
That was it, no conclusion. Cartoons were real and so was my tiger. Hope you enjoyed that bit.

Hows my little slacker?
ahhhhh...
That is what I have to say after this wonderful week I spent with laura the outdoors and other places and people. (that is a refreshed ahh by the way)
I guess where I should start is the beginning of last weekend. I promise I'll try to only hit the key spots.
Ma and Pa came up from Indiana on Friday after my final final that went half an hour over the scheduled time. Which would have killed me if it weren't for the pizza that my instructor bought for us. After a fantastic dinner and some awesome wine, (a grenache which was ohh so good) Laura made it up for her first paid vacation ever, with lil ol me.
The following Saturday was graduation. It was long winded and windy outside.
Sunday Laura's parents came up and we walked around town and hit up the Lakeview Castle for dinner which was good. We went to Iron Man that night and I was blown away by how incredible it was.
It took laura and I most of the week to figure out what we did Monday afternoon, we decided it started off very lazily and then we picked dandelions for a dandelion wine to get fermenting.
This is what 4 cups of dandelion petals look like in a bowl.
Then we grilled with some good peeps, played kubb and drank lots of good (and 'bad') wine. After we were all done with that we all went on a walk to the lake and stopped in the reef for a cheap pitcher on the way and all of us peed off of the top of several things, which was fun. Like usual.
Dan did not pee off of this though.
Tuesday Laura and I woke up feeling like we had drank as much as we had the evening before. So, we took our time packing for our adventure to the great north. Our destination was the Cascade Lodge! A little place north of Lutsen and south of Grand Marais. We had a sweet deal of the last week of off season prices and midweek price as well and hooked ourselves up with a sweet suite with a king bed a whirlpool that can fit one fat person or two skinny people and a separate living room for about $75 a night! And it had a really stellar view of the lake1 Hot damn we lived good there.
In Grand Marais we did lots of fun stuff over the course of our two days including hiking , geocaching, eating, eating sven and ole's, eating the worlds best donuts at Worlds Best Donuts, Walking, Sunburning, being cute, being gassy, skipping rocks, taking pictures, drinking wine, drinking beer, and sleeping in every day.
On our way back we completed a geocache that led us up to the top of the silver creek tunnel (via rocky cliff) by two harbors, most likely against our better judgment. Of course I was only wearing flip flops on this perilous journey.
Friday Laura and I decided we would adventure to superior for some walking and geocaching. In superior I saw with my own two eyes an unbelieveable sight.
A pretty area.
I know, its hard to believe but a pretty area in superior does indeed exist with nice houses and even a wonderful park. I thought we traveled in a warp to somewhere else but I could see the high bridge the entire time so I was constantly reminded this was in fact, a real place. That night we saw Prince Caspian which rocked real hard.
This is me trying to swing on a weird thing suspended from a swing set.
Notice the (only) patch of (green!) grass located in superior, Wisconsin behind me. It is no longer a local legend I have photographic proof the entire town does not suck. (now only most of it)
Saturday We walked around Tischer Creek by Glensheen looking for a multi-cache, it tuckered me out somethin fierce, but it was really awesome to see all sorts of really pretty waterfalls right in town.
Sunday Laura and I parted ways and I met up with my High School pals for our annual Memorial Weekend at Justin's cabin. It was stellar like always. I love Mario Kart for wii.
In case you were wondering we found about 20 geocaches this week.

Hows my little Success!!!?
I'VE DONE IT!!
I graduated college! All the grades that matter are in and I've passed all of my classes and my APAS is entirely green, HURRAY!!!
Now that I am all done I can sit back and think of all the things I won't ever have to go back and do ever again! The number one thing is Homework. God damn I am so pumped to be able to come home from work or a weekend of fun and just watch a movie play a video game or go to sleep. I've got a lot of video game playing to catch up on too. Next time I have $250 to spare I will be a proud owner of a wii, and I can't wait.
This weekend my parents and Laura trekked up to Duluth for the ol' graduation ceremony. It was nice, but dear lord was it long. If you've ever ridden in a car with me you know how fidgety I was just sitting there for three hours. I got to walk across a stage shake the dean of Fine Art's hand and get a sheet of paper telling me unless I don't owe anything and my shit is straight I'll get my diploma in 3-6 weeks.
I would say the best part of graduation was all the good food and wine I got to eat and drink with my company up here, I had an excellent time with everyone.
My Half decade college career was a very enjoyable one, I would say that without question. Thus far of being a college grad I don't see myself looking back at this time of my life nostalgically, I don't see myself envying the long nights putting together final projects and writing papers. If people say this is the best time of life then I would say they haven't been living their life since then good enough.
In High School I set out for a change of where I was and what I wanted, BSU was too big of a change, yet Duluth provided me with that change. Now that I'm done with school here I'm ready for a new change again and I can't wait for it. The clouds are starting to part and things are looking brighter. Life is going to be different and I can't wait to see what happens.
Thank you everyone who helped me get here.

Hows my little finaler?
Yesterday was the first day of my last week of finals ever! Hurray. It began with my Intro to Theater final which was a breeze, I was kind of worried about that one though because I've been doing just enough work to get by, but I think I nailed the final and I will be passing the class thus graduating and receiving my diploma in a few months!
It was a big day for me yesterday, I sold back my play books that were largely unread, and a book from first semester, and got 10 dollars back from! I took that money and paid my library fines from a book I checked out four years ago that they haven't had the time to tell me about until they can threaten me with not receiving my diploma, bitches.
My interview last week went pretty well, I haven't heard back from them yet but I should soon. It would be cool (but unrealistic) to go one for one.
Today I was putzing around on facebook and found this sweet thing they call lexicon and you can search words to see how often they appear on people's and group's wall postings. I've been playing with it for awhile, I like that hangover has a big spike on new years day. Their example they use is skiing, beach which is also a cool one. Sex I think was the most dissapointing, people don't write it enough on other people's walls I guess. It's kind of cool to see that no one uses facebook on Christmas day because everything I've seen has a big decline, including: the, me and drunk. Beer is also pretty funny to look at, guess which day that spikes on...St. Pattys! Play with it for a bit and tell me some cool ones to look up.
