Hows my little balding man?

Well I've finally admitted it to myself, I've come to grips with it, and now I've promptly done something about it. I'm losing my hair.

I have been suspecting this for awhile. For several years in fact. But I have always had this thick mop atop my noggin so I just sort of ignored it the oncoming reality and have rocked several different hairstyles over the past 10 years.

I thought everything was fine until this picture happened:
HOLY FOREHEAD BATMAN!
My initial reaction to my realization.
But I quickly decided I should probably get over it because there are only two ways to go about this sort of thing, let it bother me and grow self conscious about it, or cut off most of my hair and get over it. I've chosen the latter. Shit happens in the genetic lottery.

I'm still a happy guy.
So a few weeks ago Laura decided to have fun with my long hair one last time.

It's not a total loss though, it seems like for every hair that leaves my head I gain two somewhere else on my body. Woohoo!

Hows my little spring update?

I was uploading photos from my camera this morning and realized...We've been busy lately! I should inform the strangers people of the world what's been going on! So with no further ado life as of late:

Color Burst 5K, The color wasn't too sticky, but was a fun run.
 Easter Eggs!

There is an egg visible here. It was the last one Laura found too :)

There is something oddly satisfying about driving my Lawn Mower to get gas.
 Some exterior touchups!
First we power washed the deck and base of the house (this is the result)

Next we painted the base of the house, we liked the red from before so stuck with it.

This was just an excuse to include a flower shot.

The stained front porch! I wanted to include another photo of the finished job but it keeps raining or I forget.
 Laura's parents visited!
We checked out a (legit) distillery.

Paddled around Kickapoo

Visited our local greenhouse for some flower gazing and veggie buying.
 We planted the garden!
It needed some serious love. We had only peas, onion and garlic planted here.

After some serious weeding and planting it looks like a nice garden!
Whew!

Hows my little springtime?

Last weekend was one of those great weekends that mixed laziness with productivity and fun perfectly. Nice weather really helped it out too.

After lounging around the house Saturday we went to an event called 100 men who cook. Laura got hooked up with some free tickets for us through work. The 100 men were Danville "celebrities" and they cooked all sorts of things. Some really good, some just ok, but nothing was bad!

This was my favorite food, chocolate peanut butter cakes.

I liked his table decor the best.
After the dinner they had an auction, which was too rich for us, and a Cher cover singer!

She came into the audience and of all the people to choose, she picked me to get up on stage to sing 'I got you babe' with her. Of course I know of the song, but I certainly don't know any of the words. She left me hangin' with the mic before we got going and told me to tell a joke, so I did. Everyone got to hear my string joke.

I got to wear a Sonny wig and mustache for my performance.

My Xbox decided to stop connecting to my controllers this weekend so Sunday I got more outside work done than I was planning.

Here I am taming the grapes.
This lady hung out with me almost the entire time I was pruning

Burning grapevines and grass makes weird yellow smoke.
Spring is starting to show it's face in IL!
Rhubarb

Maple tree buds

Lillys

Mums that came back from last year.

Bleeding hearts.

Daffodils.

Tulips.

More Daffodils.

I think this is a weed, but The flowers were TINY and pretty.

Baby Lilac buds!

Pruned grapes trained up the pergola.
Later that night we went to a creamery that was hosting a hog roast!

I forgot to take a before photo. Sorry.

The creamery makes cheese from goats milk. These were happy goats.

The boy goats made Laura nervous.

Baby goats!
Not pictured are the two goats we say that were less than a day old. So awkward, so cute.

Hog #2

Appropriate beer selection for a hog roast, note to self.

Before photo of round two.
Just in case you were getting hungry, this pig nose should fix that feeling.

It was a great (and (ful)filling!) weekend, I'd do it all over again.
