Hows my little springtime?

Last weekend was one of those great weekends that mixed laziness with productivity and fun perfectly. Nice weather really helped it out too.

After lounging around the house Saturday we went to an event called 100 men who cook. Laura got hooked up with some free tickets for us through work. The 100 men were Danville "celebrities" and they cooked all sorts of things. Some really good, some just ok, but nothing was bad!

This was my favorite food, chocolate peanut butter cakes.

I liked his table decor the best.
After the dinner they had an auction, which was too rich for us, and a Cher cover singer!

She came into the audience and of all the people to choose, she picked me to get up on stage to sing 'I got you babe' with her. Of course I know of the song, but I certainly don't know any of the words. She left me hangin' with the mic before we got going and told me to tell a joke, so I did. Everyone got to hear my string joke.

I got to wear a Sonny wig and mustache for my performance.

My Xbox decided to stop connecting to my controllers this weekend so Sunday I got more outside work done than I was planning.

Here I am taming the grapes.
This lady hung out with me almost the entire time I was pruning

Burning grapevines and grass makes weird yellow smoke.
Spring is starting to show it's face in IL!
Rhubarb

Maple tree buds

Lillys

Mums that came back from last year.

Bleeding hearts.

Daffodils.

Tulips.

More Daffodils.

I think this is a weed, but The flowers were TINY and pretty.

Baby Lilac buds!

Pruned grapes trained up the pergola.
Later that night we went to a creamery that was hosting a hog roast!

I forgot to take a before photo. Sorry.

The creamery makes cheese from goats milk. These were happy goats.

The boy goats made Laura nervous.

Baby goats!
Not pictured are the two goats we say that were less than a day old. So awkward, so cute.

Hog #2

Appropriate beer selection for a hog roast, note to self.

Before photo of round two.
Just in case you were getting hungry, this pig nose should fix that feeling.

It was a great (and (ful)filling!) weekend, I'd do it all over again.
