Hows my little Intolerant Bastard?

Got Milk?
No, I don't have milk. In fact I would love milk, but I have a problem and I can't have it(much).

I friends have decided I am a full-fledged Lactose Intolerant human being. You might be thinking aww, poor Tony he can't drink milk. Well Fuck you, I would be responding to that thought you may or may not be having, I CAN drink milk, and I intend on it until I die.

Ok so that last bit might have been a little over the top aggressive. But I like milk, and unfortunately I have to pay attention to what I eat. Sometimes with dinner I really do enjoy a large glass of cold milk to go with it. Unfortunately without a strong wind at my back I can't do that anymore. My problem's are by far and away not as serious as some people's Intolerances.

I just get gassey.
Really really bad too.

I was recently called an Ice Cream whore by Ms. Fuller and I do not mind this nickname. So, in order for one to be an ice cream whore they must enjoy copious amounts of ice cream, as I like to think I do. Onwards to relevance, today at the grocery store I stumbled across a new flavor of B&J (thats Ben and Jerry's) called Marsha Marsha Marshmallow, and dear lord, it was divine. It slid right past half baked as my favorite with ease, and thats a tough feat. So when I got home I made my dinner, half of this pint of B&J, yum yum, I thought. But no. I have been sitting in my room procrastinating my homework like champ and farting so horrendously neither of my two candles and multiple sticks of incense could mask this rank odor.

This is a problem.
I love Ice cream. A lot.

So naturally tonight in my discomfort as well as my procrastinate mode I have done some research on my ailment, and found out one or two interesting things, which I will now share with you, because I know you care about my farts.

Lactose intolerance is usually developed in teen and adult years. It is caused by the digestive system's lack of lactase, which digests lactose, which is in nearly every dairy product ever. It occurs in a whopping SIX percent of white Americans, so chances of you crackers developing it are pretty slim. Also, I can drink approximately eight WHOLE ounces of milk EACH DAY without issue. but my bowl of cereal every morning takes this buffer away quickly.

So by here you might be thinking, "Why are you complaining and making me uncomfortable with all of your gas problems, go out and do something!"
Here I would say, "Well friend, there isn't a magic cure-all to this, I can take some pills before I dive into that bowl of ice cream, but I haven't researched those much aside from their existence."

"Why don't you drink soy milk!"
"Thats like drinking non-alcoholic beer or decaffeinated coffee, I can't do that."

Now that you've read this far, you might be asking, "Tony, why do or should I give a flying fuck?"
I would respond this time with, "You shouldn't but..."

Know this, next time you invite me over for an excellent dinner, Serve me a giant glass of water(or wine), make sure our pasta isn't swimming deeply in cream sauce, and unless you are kicking me out right after dessert, lets finish it up with a nice piece of cake non-a la mode. With these precautions taken I will be a pleasant guest and there will be much merry-ness to be had by all.
Not inviting me to dinner is not a viable option.

Hows my little walker?

I get myself to school without the aid of any motorized vehicle approximately 98% of the days of each month. Sometimes I will drive because i can justify the $1.25 cost for 10 hours at school. But, I digress. So today, no different than any other day, unless you count the falling snow and the accumulated 10 inches or so, I walked to school.

I didn't really walk though, it was more of a slip, slide, grumble, and sing-a-long adventure to school today.

PEOPLE OF THE WORLD!
SHOVEL YOUR GOD DAMNED SIDEWALKS!!!!

Please. It would really help me and my co-walkers out.

It wouldn't have bothered me so much because I just walked on the road, but as I was walking down 21st on the way home cars were literally inches away from me. When I saw the reverse imprint of a bumper embossed into a snowbank, I began to get a mite nervous about the safety of my trudge to/from school.

Tomorrow I will be taking a hopefully less treacherous path to and from school, wish me luck!

Hows my little Ice Caver?

This weekend Laura took me out near her homeland to visit the Apostle Island Sea Caves. Being that its February the sea caves have transitioned into ultra-sweet Ice Caves! I had a blast wandering around through some really HUGE sheets of ice and icicles within caves. It was pretty warm here in the northland this week so we were exploring the caves probably at the last weekend of this winter, it was a good thing I wore my boots because we went sloshing around in some pretty deep water that was on top of the ice!

Naturally I am exploring my photography skills so I took one or two pictures, so here they are for your viewing pleasure!

Also in the news, IT SNOWED IN DULUTH FINALLY. I was beginning to call this the winter that didn't happen. I might sled home from school tomorrow.

Hows my little Hawaiian?

Indiana was good to me this weekend. I ate lots of good food, drank a drink or two, and hung out with mom and pa. It was all quite fantastic. I got invited to come visit this snowy land to participate in a local Elks lodge event, THE HAWAIIAN COUNTDOWN!!!

Its fun little event where you more or less get entered into a drawing have a wonderful prime rib dinner, The game works by every time they call a name, that person loses, unless you are the last two names drawn, then you get $250 and first place wins a trip to Hawaii! No one in our whole group won anything, although we did have someone in the top 10 which was fun. My Grandpa ended up being the big winner and won himself a bottle of gin in one of the side games.

Go Grandpa!

Shitty tacos and cheap beer at Luce tonight! yay!

Hows my little tech support?

Sometimes I wonder when this will be true.
Soon I imagine.

Hows my little freeze?

A couple of Days ago I got to pop my walk on top of Lake Superior cherry. It was really cool and scary, the ice was at LEAST 8 inches thick but I could always hear this really goofy sounding pop noise of the ice shifting and cracking, every now and then I would feel it right under my feet and that scared me more than once. But it was worth it for sure, I got some good shots of the ice for a project in photo and got to experience a walk top of the lake, yay.

Making Laura dinner tonight and headed out for a drink afterwards, Friday I'm off to Indy for the weekend. If you like 30 Seconds to Mars their New CD 'A Beautiful Lie' is good.

Hows my little out of towner?

This weekend I went to Madison Wisconsin.
I like Duluth less now because of it.
Now, Don't get me wrong. Duluth and I, we are still on good terms, but its like a mutually bad relationship and we are begnning to fall out of love with each other. I have said for about 6 months or more now, Duluth is an excellent place to go to college, and an even better place to visit.

As a college kid it has everything; opinionated people, plenty of places to drink (cheaply), a wonderful assortment of shopping, a plethara of outdoor activities, many people who like doing said activities, parks, senics, entry-level work, and hobos to talk to.

As a nearing college graduate though, what it does not have is real well paying jobs. Kind of important. Unless you work for the hospital...then you're set. Which brings me to my next point.

As soon as I graduate I will be slipping out of Duluth, MN faster than watery poop. I have no idea where I'll be heading, but its going to be out of here.

Up until a couple of months ago I was pretty sure I was moving back to the cities somewhere, But Ireland really opened my eyes to the rest of the world, and now so has this trip to Madison. There are tons of cool places to go and live, and I'm not going to be able to just end up somewhere familiar and safe like the cities. I know you might be saying, 'Tony...Wisconsin?' I would reply with, well the city was cool as hell, and not full of creepy people, but also, no not just wisconsin, somewhere new, unique, interesting, and different.

I moved to bemidji for a change of settings and I enjoyed it for what I could, now I have now had my fill of Duluth rock city, its time for me to move on. I am a traveler and a wanderer not to be tied to one place while I am young and movable.

Hows my little Friendship?

Friends are wonderful.
MY friends are wonderful. I love all of them. They are always there for me, If I am having a problem, I have a friend who is willing to listen, talk, laugh, and help. If I get a crazy idea I have a friend who will help me get it off the ground. If I want a drink or 12 I have friends who will buy me one or stumble home with me. I even have friends who are good enough to help people with a ride at any hour of the day.

Right now friends, our lives are all at different spots, some of us are graduating, some of us have to think about graduating, some of us have to think about thinking of graduating, some are beginning new lives elsewhere, some of them already have. Some of us will become memories, while others of us will grow closer than ever.

Life for me is at an interesting point, for the first time in my entire scholastic career I actually like what I am learning and applying. I am dating someone that truly makes me happy and that I enjoy every moment with. My friendships are as strong as they have ever been, I laugh and love more than ever. I feel like I'm closer with my parents more than ever, even if they are out of the state.

As for my friends from High School, its finally dawned on me. Its going to be hard to stay as good of friends as we once were. I don't have a common home to go see my family and you cats at the same time. But I still think of you, some of the best stories I tell involve all of you. I have made an effort to go out and see you, and you have me as well. I truly appreciate every offer for a warm place to sleep over any time I want to come to the cities. Its gestures like that that keep me loving the world and the people I know in it.

To the kids I know from college, I love you all. You know it too. I am really trying from here on out to make time to get all of my work done, as well as doing a good job with it. But I am also trying to see you and let you know that I am thinking of you as often as ever. Anne Clifford You left, but I feel like we are better friends since you did. Although I am not just around as much, I still am always thinking of all of you and haven't forgotten any one of you. I am rethinking what I want with myself right now and in the future, and I think I have an idea, but now I just need to balance me out with you. That is going to take some time. Be patient with me while I get used to things, I can't do it all, but I'm trying to do some.

I only have a year left at UMD. At the same time though, I have a WHOLE YEAR left at UMD. The time is flying, and we will too. During this time and after I use this blog as a tool, it helps me let you know how I am doing, and what I am thinking. And that is why I write it, to stay close to you, my friends and family.

That was pretty mushy, sorry.

Hows my little if Procrastinating was....?

If Procrastinating was an art form, I would be a master and people would travel the world to seek my expert guide in said skills. I haven't made a list in quite awhile so lets bring that baby back...We will start at today's beginning, naturally.

- Hung out with laura, we watched UHF, funny movie, David Bowie is in it. Weird Al stars in it though. [shiver]

- Worked on homework at school, decided watching the superbowl would be more entertaining.

- Left school, noticed my car hates me and the -7 high that we had today.

- Arrived at home to see that the TV was in-use by my two roomies who do nothing but stare at it in their free time. Damn.

- Jason stopped in for a bit.

- We did some wine making.

- Opened up my sister's digital camera, this excited Jason but he had to leave to star in his Co-Opted radio show 'The Fogwatch'...it's making him World Famous.

- I continued futzing with said camera, Got it to work...Briefly.

- Broke said (recently un-)broken camera...sadness.

- Realized I missed ALL of the Superbowl commercials, more sadness.

- Facebooked/blogstalked/Read news/wasted lots of time on the Internet.

- Looked for a job.

- Found a Desirable Job.

- Opened word document with resume.

- Decided Photshopping would be fun

-

-

-

- Posted those three pictures after proper photoshopping time invested.

- Updated Resume.

- Tried looking up Superbowl commercials online, fruitlessly and half-assed.

- Wrote cover letter.

- Read BBC News.

- Read CNN News.

- Read Google 'News'.

- Finished application.

- Ate a couple of the cinnamon rolls Laura and I made yesterday.

- Sent in Application, Resume, and Cover Letter.

- Facebooked.

- Wrote a blog detailing my absentmindedness.

- Changed into Pj's and decided to wake up early in the morning for more homework.

- Published Blog

Hows my little bomb scare?

This is a bomb.
Do not go near it.

FOOLED YOU!!! If youre like me you don't know what this floppy disc looking thing really is, you would have to google search "floppy disc finger guy" or read further into the report in order to find out.

So the entire city of Boston freaked out yesterday because of lite-brites hanging on their bridges. Turns out its a character from the horrible show Aqua Teen hunger Force. But this little stunt makes the show just horrible and a little funny.

The two guys hanging the signs face charges of placing a hoax device in a way that results in panic, as well as one count of disorderly conduct, The hoax charge is a felony.

WTF America. WTF.
